BASE RAID VS SoE. Sat. 20 May 06

The raid went surprisingly well considering we only had 8 folks show up.  Through the bugs and the reset we still came to a draw against SoE.  Everyone got a bit hot-tempered (understandably considering what happened) but we had a discussion with SoE afterwards about it.  Take heart that something like that will be a rare occurance. 

For those that weren't there...  A recent patch made it so that we couldn't group.  We ended up zoning in and getting taken apart one by one.  SoE honestly had good tactics.  They chose a target and ganged up on him or her.  Our communication was a little sketchy due to everyone not being on Vent.  In order for us to be successful we must work together and communicate.  For future raids, please, download ventrillo and get a Mic for it.  (/end rant)  Anyways.  SoE put up a good fight but we did better.

We crashed going in the first time because we were teamed.  We went in, unteamed, and proceeded to take out the generator, and 2 DAs.  We crashed again.  When we got back to SoEs base we had 37 minutes left on the clock.  We took out the generator a second time and then took out the DAs in short order.

We found that we needed a vault in order for them to raid us.  I spent a quick 15 minutes making a barebones vault room so we could raid.  They had few problems.  They took out our reclamators as a prime target and then camped our entrance.  We got real lucky that there was always at least one person alive in base at all times.  Lets learn from this and return the favor on future events.

The prisons worked well.  They were logging out and back in just to get out of the prisons.  We took each prisoner out of commision for at least a minute just due to loading in and out, plus the time it took them to realize they needed to do that.  

 Long story short, 8 people stood against 12 and held our own for damn near 40 minutes.  Congrats to you defenders of Vindictive.  Lets do wice as good next time.

You and Evilfoe did a great job. Reclamators need to be protected, maybe with repulsion fields?? Don't know.
I think we need better strategies and a back up plan. For instance the bug with the system that we couldn't team up.... we need to take action. My suggestion for future raid in which we are being cheated on is:
Lets armed every single member of the SG (especially the ones participating) with pylons.  When the leadership of our group types in coalition "you guys are cheating" we all immediately active the pylons.

I'm under the impression that ground rules are setup prior to any raid. I did not get that impression last nite. Is there a protocol to be followed during raids.  Do we need to mention that no camping  at entrance will be acceptable?  Can we all drop out raid (as forfeiting) at any time when something cheesy is going on?

But most importantly we need to armed ourselves with special powers. I think  that after communication comes resposibility. We need people to participate in the raids. We need raids to not take so long.  Maybe the same 8 ppl that showed up need to be asked in advance before scheduling another raid.  We know we need a mim of 8, any other would be more than welcome.

LEt's analize last nite raid minute by minute and think on how to improve our strategy. How to improve our weaknesses. Let's not linger or fester on how mean they were, let's make this raid be a great lessons for us. Stone can we all or at least the 8 ppl that were they get on vent soon and share ideas??

I work nights Ruthless.  Getting me on Vent during the week is impossible.  I will be on during the weekends.  Also, although underhanded, their tactic was sound.  It made good tactical sense for them to do what they did.  They knew that if they got the reclamators, they could keep us from the base.  They stationed 2 MMs and 2 stalkers at the entrance and had good communications with each other even without teams.  WE did not utilize Vent as we should have.  The bugs aside, they made sound descions, even if they were sneaky.

Pylons.  Bad idea.  They make raids not fun.  Also, partway through the raid, Lady Firegoddess admitted that she forgot to tell us that we couldn't use pylons or temp phase. (The one earned in Warburg)  These are things that need to be put out before the raid.  I am working with Lady Firegoddess to get this info before a raid so it can be posted here. 

I can't stress enough how much info is on this site.  Our members really need to know about the site and make it a point to come here at least once a day before or after they game.  This way, they can't say they didn't know.  As I learn of events, I post them here on the site so everyone can be informed of them.
