My 2 cents so far:
For BDO I've been optimistic, but waiting for the hand of shit. So far I'm enjoying it, but the game will heavily relies on the pvp if it will survive.
Edan has been lucky not to be hit by any server issues, so gameplay wise I don't have much to complain just yet. Issues for the game itself is there's not much pve. Lack of interesting mob AI and dungeons, and if you don't like grinding the game isn't for you. English dubbing ranges from mediocre to utter shit dear lord, so for the story I have no idea what goes on because I'd rather not listen. However, what I like is the game literally throws you in the sandbox and you have to figure shit out. And there's other interesting features that may peak your interest like nodes, workers, fishing, etc.
For pvp and player interaction, I haven't delved into yet. I've just done one guild quest and that's it. But this will be the make or break for me, and looking at videos it looks promising however I have nothing substantial to say just yet.
For the hand of shit. It's unavoidable. Right now it's the cash shop. There's been uproar from people about the costumes in the game. One, they're expensive (I think Daum did a 10% reduction so far) priced around $30 for a full set. Also, Some sets also come with stats adding a little p2w, but all I've seen is increase in exp gain and gain in sight range. The only set I've seen that resembles p2w is a ghillie suit you can buy that hides your whole screen name, etc.
So right now it isn't too bad and I don't get some of the exaggerated uproar, HOWEVER it is a red flag for bad things to come and there should be backlash to voice the communities concerns to the developers. Cuz I don't want another thunderstruck logs bullshit. But if this is the worse of what Daum will do, I'll take it. Someone cover any other issues if I missed any.
