I'm really lost between making either an Esper or a Spellslinger. Any opinions on the pro's and con's of each? If you know me personally or my playstyle (d/d ele), recommended one for me please. :) sorry for a self centered thread
 
If you like d/d ele, you're gonna hate esper then. Early on your basic auto attack is rooted. I think after lvl 11 or so you can get an auto that's mobile but has a lot less dps. The range and burst on espers are pretty good though. Spellslingers are way more mobile are generally are more fun, so I'd say go with them.

^ Yeah I agree. I think if he could stick it through the early game of esper he could like it, but spellslinger would probably be more rewarding for him.
 
I don't think you'd like the root from esper.. They have another skill viable for auto attack that isn't as good, but no root. The burst skill is a phoenix that comes out in a line and does massive dmg, but you need to build max PSI for it to do its most dmg. Plus some more high burst skills and a couple mediocre heals, if you go assault rather than support.. If you go support then the healing is great. Medics have some similar aspects to dd ele when you look at their point blank aoes, great dots, and the ability to go heavy into healing. I think you'd do best with one of those two classes.. I think they'd go along with your play style. Who knows what hybrid builds will come out when more ppl are lvl 50.
 
I've been playing it, I know have a 16 esper and 16 medic.... You will like medic better ;)

It's all PBAoE and sustained dmg/dots/healing... Closest to d/d ele i think
