Are they kidding? Apparently the interviewer/previewer didn't bother to ask anyone what they thought of it. Someone smack some sense in da' biotch!

Winner: City of Heroes (writeup by Krystalle Voecks)

Our pick for Most Improvements in an MMO for 2008 goes to <font color=#01737a size=2>NCsoft</font>'s <font color=#01737a size=2>City of Heroes</font> & <font color=#01737a size=2>City of Villains</font>. While only <font color=#01737a size=2>Issue 12</font> and <font color=#01737a size=2>Issue 13</font> came out this year, both were fairly hefty in terms of giving players new options on their beloved game. In <font color=#01737a size=2>Issue 12 "The Midnight Hour"</font> we saw Powerset Proliferation; <font color=#01737a size=2>Villain Epic Archetypes</font>; the addition of the <font color=#01737a size=2>Midnight Squad</font>, introducing the <font color=#01737a size=2>Roman Cimeroran</font> maps; the <font color=#01737a size=2>Hollows overhaul</font>; and even some smaller and greatly needed things like the ability to convert three Inspirations to one of a more useful type and <font color=#01737a size=2>more character slots</font>. <font color=#01737a size=2>Issue 13 "Power and Responsibility"</font> added in <font color=#01737a size=2>Day Jobs</font> for offline character progression; multiple builds for solo and group play; Pain Dominance and <font color=#01737a size=2>Shields</font> as <font color=#01737a size=2>new powersets</font>; Leveling Pact; <font color=#01737a size=2>SuperGroup base re-pricing</font>, saving millions of Prestige across the board; and <font color=#01737a size=2>Merit rewards</font> along with <font color=#01737a size=2>lots of other good stuff</font>.

In short, it's been an awesome year for the Heroes and Villains of Paragon City, and with <font color=#01737a size=2>Issue 14 Architect</font> planned for next year, it looks like 2009 is on track to rock, too. Hats off - and capes on - for the <font color=#01737a size=2>City of Heroes</font> & <font color=#01737a size=2>City of Villains</font> developers!

Imag and I were talking about this yesterday. I asked him how he felt and he replied, "I wonder how much they paid Massively to get that award."

Here is my first post, here. And you look down a post or two someone agrees with meh. Then... I have a feeling this could get deleted, but the fucker pissed me off...

With the sole exception of I13, everything has been extraordinarily stable. This release was rocky, that's true. But the past I think you may be glossing over. It's hardly "worse" - there's a great post down in the General area I think that shows what all we HAVE now that folks who want to reminisce about the "old days" (and believe me I was there) ... it wasn't great. It wasn't better. It was slightly more stable several months ago, but they wanted this release out so that the devs *gasp* might be able to actually take vacations and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

The game's far better today than it was 1, 2 or 3 years ago. Everything is pretty much "moar". My one caveat is... Hami... but let's not go into that...

I love how you are subjecting your opinion as fact as the way the whole group of you protector forum regulars always do. Just because you guys THINK the game is better, and enjoy it more, doesn't make it fact that it is better, especially not for every single person who plays this game. Many of my friends are unhappy with the current state of the game and have quit or are looking to move my whole SG to greener pastures again. IE, we left pro for freedom, cause pro got so boring and now looking to move to a new game entirely. While the content has gotten better, the quality and stability of the final product has diminished greatly. Thought it does get better as time goes by with each issue, each issue starts out progressively worse. Seriously, all instances where broken the first day of i13 and it took them 8 hours to react to the situation and do anything about it. Instances make up 75 to 99% of this game if you don't PVP and depending on how much time you spend at the market... I12 went live with many, many known client crashes still unresolved or really poor choices for work arounds in place. I8 and i9 had huge additions to the game in them, and I had many friends who had server lag issues for a few months after each issue went live. I could go on and on. You want to glaze over the rest of the facts then go ahead, but leave the rest of us to formulate our own opinions. "
