EQ Next LANDMARK instant access

For those of you interested in EQ Next's "Landmark" feature, they've sent out email's with this

Just to be clear, I don't believe this is beta to the actual game, just their Landmark deal. This basically means you will be alpha testing the feature that allows players to create/change/whatever the landscapes of the entire game to help the devs give all the players a better game world.

Personally, that video didn't do the game much justice. It's looked better in other feature videos. Plus that guy's face creeps me out in every video I see him in. Anyway, as the email says, you have to buy either the trailblazer or explorer founder packs to get into the alpha, or just the settler founder pack to get into the closed betas once they start.

The prices are $100, $60, and $20. You can compared the packs for yourself here:

You know, I played the original everquest for years, and I loved the shit out of it, but looking at this one, it just doesn't seem to do anything for me. I'll be passing, I believe. Unless ESO just happens to suck balls, which I somehow doubt.

im not gonna lie, this money grubbin for alpha is not floating my boat.(not the first game do it either).

Not a fan of the prices but I've never really been upset about games allowing beta/alpha access for pre-orders. I actually prefer it. It's not like it's a crime. It's just like "hey you guys are gonna pre-order anyway, we'll throw in alpha/beta access" because obviously no one from the group of people who want to test beta before they pay anything will pre-order just for beta access; they'll just wait for open beta. Only people who are sure they'll be playing it and paying for it will pre-order sooner for beta access.

But anyway, Malie, I have to semi agree with you about not being too excited but I only played EQ a little bit (I was a cat-person furry, though, so I clearly should have stayed). I don't know why they went for the more cartoony look but I could probably look past that if they have some other features that make up for it. So far it hasn't been so bad. Their class/soul system seemed interesting at least.

how is the combat ivy(point and click, action based?)

I sincerely hope it's action based but I can't remember if I saw its combat in one of the videos before.

Ill be grabbing this pretty soonish and give my thoughts on it. Been looking forward to it more than any of the other stuff.

So I am a sucker for EQ(it being my first mmo love^^) and I picked this up. I have a few of the limited beta keys that are not spoken for yet. Anyone game?

The keys are not available yet, should be getting them closer to the launch of closed beta at the end of March(a little early I know, sorry).
