gilda run future plans?

ight so this is the second time we have been rolled like this. I've come up with a few ideas to make it so that we don't lose everything a third time on a run to freedrich.

1) we need our own scouts. after this most recent run it must be obvious that we need at least one person to go to the island that is actually in our guild. we put our trust in another to scout and they somehow failed us. I'm not saying don't trust other guilds, just lets have some of our own do the scouting next time.

2) split up the run. after we've scouted out the island I would suggest not pulling up to the shore right away. I would have maybe half of the people carrying trade packs to sit back from the island and have a fighting division with the people turning the packs in. this way in the event someone does show up there's less of a chance of us losing all the trade packs again.

3) no one is our ally once we hit freedrich. while this does not apply to people we went to the island with and are running packs with, it does apply to ANYONE who is already on the island especially red names. if there is no prior knowledge of who is on the island DO NOT ENTER . send the scouts to the island from whatever ship we are running on. we can take the ships to a safe distance away from the island and send scouts on rowboats. this minimizes the chances of them being seen as well as keeps the rest of the runners hidden. if someone is seen on the island consider the danger at level 1. level 2 is when there are 4-6 people spotted not necessarily from the same guild or faction but consider them the enemy. level 3 is when there is a group of people from the same guild, this amount of people can range anywhere from 2+ people. we really need to watch this since it can quickly escalate into a danger level 4. level 4 would be a big guild or zerg on the island in which case the trade run is canceled. I would recommend we get a scouting division and have them learn the four danger levels and to call them.

my basic issue with our runs so far is that we have come to the island in an extremely noticeable fashion. I believe that if we are a bit more stealthy we can get the most out of our runs instead of wasting all of your hard earned trade packs. I just don't like seeing such a positive trip go to shit. while the main structured pvp may require zergs and large amounts of people rushing areas. I somewhat feel like I have to say that trade runs are not meant to pvp. if we can avoid the situations where we can get wiped we wont have to run with a zerg, this means that there will be less connection issues as well as less of a chance of us being spotted once on the island.

I am really looking forward to more trade runs but resources need to stop being wasted on failed attempts. I will say that our second run was way more organized than our first. but it was not organized enough. we did a fine job getting everyone together and getting to the island but because of faulty recon we did not have the intel needed to actually enter the island. I would recommend that we figure out a good recon class and have people "sign up" to be our recon division when we do runs. yea we wont be running quite as many packs at one time but it will be a lot safer than just trying to rush the vendors in the middle of a death pit.

I would love to hear some input on how we can be safer when doing our runs and possibly try to figure out some teams of people who can do different tasks. the task teams I have in mind are: captain - keeps the ships floating and turns them around in case we need a quick escape, this position goes to the owners of ships; recon - our scouts, you keep us informed of the situation at the island. you are the backbone of our runs since if you mess up we all die, alert the pack runners and captains of the danger level of the island as well as any notable bloodstain areas, people inside of the box breaking area, nuia statue, etc...; pack runners - like the title says you run the packs, once recon gives you the OK to move into the island you cloak and walk in. the only people allowed to run packs are people with the shadowplay cloak ability anyone else who doesn't have the ablility and want to run packs will be required to get shadowplay for the duration of the run; warriors - you keep our pack runners alive. after recon has done their job they will join you and bolster your forces. the warriors will include not only dps but support people as well. I would recommend the support have soncraft quickstep as it will help the pack runners along. you are to intercept ANYONE you see be it green names or red names. Im not saying kill everyone on site since some are indeed friendly. establish the guilds who are friendly before EVERY LANDING as some may forget or not have been there the first time.

I believe that, although it will require more trips to the island, this will allow our big guild runs to be a success. again let me hear input on this since I know there will be people needing the gilda stars for boats, houses, cars, etc. and I know that hellios as well as many other people don't want to see the precious trade packs go to the reds.

I just want to put on note that im not mad about how this went. I really enjoyed it actually I just don't want people losing there stuff again.

Sounds like it didn't go well last night. I wish I could have been there like I'd planned but my computer decided to go to shit on me yesterday and I spent the day reloading Windows and all my programs onto it. So I seriously apologize for not being there even if I wouldn't have made a difference. Computer is working good again now so hopefully I got whatever the problem was fixed, and I'll make the next run whenever that is.

I kinda feel bad that I couldn't make it but life is getting weird on me right now, so at this rate I probably won't get to play anything at all until the weekends (I feel like a highschooler again :p)
