"...Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds..."

Is that even correct grammar? "Now I am become"? Wtf, shouldn't it be "Now I have become..."?

Also, who the hell is that standing by the Recluse statue on the front page?

Well, last I checked, it was writen by a Journalist. But that doesnt really say anything does it? Also the guy next to Lord Recluse is Stormsiege. Its kinda like Try saying "I Love Me Lots!!!"

That's what it literally translates to in the Bhagavad-Gita after Shiva says it (the Bhagavad-Gita is considered one of the most epic poems in both Indian and world history). Oppenheimer quoted it word for word after seeing the atomic detonation in New Mexico, because the original source of the quote, Shiva, is the God of Destruction in Hinduism. (He is also the God of Creation, go figure).

In game, I had to drop the "am" and change it to "Now I become death, the destroyer of worlds", as many people didn't seem to be familiar with Mr. Oppenhiemer's famous quote.

BTW, Jenny agrees with you Hell (not about not caring), she suggests that we put a ' , ' after am to make the quote "....Now I Am, Become Death, Destroyer of Worlds...." Also , in Hindi, "I am" is a common exclamation/phrase. So the comma makes sense being there.

The above statement is in no way shape or form the thoughts, gestures or reasoning of yours truly.

YAY! I get to teach Grammar! My mother the English teacher would be so proud!

Yes. It is proper grammer. In both forms. Although, if you go with the direct translation Stomp, you don't need the comma so tell Jenny that.

It is correct because:

"Now I become" The verb here is "to become." The person is saying that they will "become" this thing in the NOW. It is present tense.

"Death" What the quoter is going to become now. A more common, and therefore more widely accepted 'translation' would be, "I am becoming Death now." All you're doing is switching where the verb goes in the sentence. Believe it or not, English is the only language that has so many rules for verb placement.

Go watch Star Wars. Yoda speaks with perfect grammar. He merely puts the verb in the middle or end of his sentences as opposed to at the begining. Example:

Yoda's version
"Away put your weapon. I mean you no harm."

American English Version
"Put away your weapon. I don't mean any harm."

So. To sum up.

"Now I become Death, Destroyer of worlds." Is grammatically correct.
