</div><div><span style="font-family: verdana; ;">Many of you have been curious to learn what the names of the Aion servers will be at launch. We've listed the server names below along with their associated time zones. The servers are aligned to those time zones (e.g. affecting fortresses) so that players on the East Coast as well as those on the West Coast can have blocks of game time to play during each server's prime time. Daylight saving will apply at launch.

Before the start of preselection (which begins September 18, 2009), we will also give our fans from the Oceanic region the chance to take part in an online community poll where you can indicate what server you'd pick unofficially if you want to play with your friends and neighbors. We hope to show instant results in the poll so that you can see which server provides you the best chance to meet them. 

We are going to post a similar community poll for roleplayers. We have decided not to officially tag servers as roleplaying servers and enforce specific rules on them. However, we do believe that roleplayers are an essential part of our community, and we support their initiative to claim their own unofficial roleplaying server. Aion gives you the ability to create your own chat channel, and we are already seeing a lot of roleplaying groups out there who are defining their own rules and building up their own communities. Take your time to organize your group before the poll goes live, and then pick the server that would give you the best chance to find players with the same roleplaying interests.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Atreia on one of these servers at launch!

For those who played WAR..

Many people from WAR Vortex/Volkmar are going to Ariel server.  According to a bunch of Forum buz a bunch of the "WoW arena dipshits/douchebags" are all headed to Siel.
 
I'd like to vote for a west coast server, living there and all.

edit: although for some reason I'm playing on an east coast server right now.

Nah id go Ariel.  You didnt play with any of the ones im currently speaking of tbh.  That and they all seem to hate WAR as much as most people here now, so you have things in common

Considering the majority of us are in California (ie, unemployed) PLUS the fact that Siel is THE unofficial PVP server.
I'm voting for Siel.

Plus if those Warhammer guys are going to Ariel, then thats another reason for me to stay away from that server.

TL;DR: Let's see... play on dead servers (East Coast) or stay with the most popular Aion server in the NA and Asian region (Siel)...
 
Well as im not playing Aion.. thats about all I got. 

I dont know anything of the WoW players I quoted personally.. but I can see the hate for WAR players superceds that quite clearly.

Anyway just wanted to throw out what I heard about who is going where. 

Hopefully you all have a good time with the WoW people and whatever "dipshit douchebaggery" they bring with them.  Evidentally its less then WAR players.

Some of the WAR players I came across on Vent were headstrong elitist dickheads, im not into that.

As for the WoW thing.
The only thing i've noticed during beta is the usual in any MMO, which is spamming of region channel.
WoW 'douchebags' are the worst for this, spamming lame chuck norris jokes and internet memes
Try and play 10 minutes in Aion with reading the word WoW in your chat screen.

But i'll most likely delete it from my tab like I do in every game i play, so i'm only looking at the things I care about.
- Group, Legion, Looking for Group Chat
- Combat Tab
- and a separate tab for system messages/loot.

The good thing about the WoW players who come to Aion is that their parents will make them go to bed at 9pm.

Other then that, more people to kill in PvP zones who dont know what their doing.

I'm fed up with listing to people compare all MMO's to WoW.... Yeah sure WoW players are mostly stupid. But I remember people in Warhammer are not much smarter. It takes one bad experience for someone to form a stereotype opinion about anything. Everyone will have an opinion that people might like or dislike. But do not take everything as a straight attck towards you.

Yes because Everyone and their mom plays wow people complain about it... being to (insert your own word here) but I bet you liked it the first hours you played the game. and that is the same for any game.

So I dont like Halo ... everyone thinks im the devel because of that... I thought the batman game sucked... and again the devil. So what if you like it I will still say its crap and you will still its good. Who CARES its all good since we are humans that have opinions... if we were all alike then we could all make a Pong MMO and play that untill we die!!!

Again dont take everything as a personal attack... or do you feel attacked if the news say all mmo'ers are idiots?

And with that POW i leave you to your thoughts!!

I have not mentioned anybody's name from WoW or Warhammer, and i never will, but if i say 'Some people I met from WoW/WAR are (tools/douchbag/whatever)' then i bet you could think of some names on your own.

And what i posted was from my experience of the beta the last few days, the people that were spamming 'Internet memes and chuck norris jokes' ARE WoW players, I saw some guy called wowsbetter, i'm like 'troll much?'
I'm not stereotyping and saying 'Everyone who plays WoW is a 12 year old douchebag', I mean, if you wade through all the crap in WoW there ARE some decent players, but most of them have taken off their training wheels and gone to other games, but yes its a shame that these '12 year olds' will be coming across to Aion and bitch only because it is too hard to do anything.

No but seriously, all of you stop being butthurt. We're sticking with Siel based on population. I don't care what the server make-up is because a dead noob is still dead.

Not to mention the whiners who are constantly comparing everything to WoW will likely leave or settled down after the first month, or few months.  Fact of MMOs are, they attract whiners.  MMO's tend to attract people who like their games on easy mode and so they dabble in what there is available and sink into a comfy pattern until they get bored or pissed, and then move on.  In the meantime they tend to feeel entitled to their opinion being the end all be all and feel they should share it to everyone else to show them how right they are. All servers have their own proportions of different types of peoples, including the annoying ones (whatever the traits you personally define as annoying).  Populated servers just have a higher amount of people to have that proportion so it just seems louder and more obnoxious.<div>

Hopefully rolling on a west coast server that is 3 hours behind me won't effect my gameplay too much. I've got class at 8:30 every morning, and if the heavy PvP picks up around 8pm on the server, thats 11pm my time. As much as I hate to say it (also as much as I will want to stay up), I won't be able to be on until 1-3 or later in the morning day in and day out. Hell, right now it's only 9:20 pm and I'm about ready to crash.

My vote would be for Azriel or whatever the EST server may be. Also, is the majority of the Vindictive population really west coast?

shouldn't have too much of a problem cuase there will be people from east coast on this server too so things will probably start picking up whenever we need it to

Yes, I do.

Any negative generalization about a specific group of people that I am a member of, I take a degree of offence to.  That degree varies based upon who is the one saying it and my relationship with them, the nature of the comment itself (in jest or some form of purproseful hurtful attack, blatent or covert), and other various circumstances going on at the same time.  For example..

Currently I am probably the only person reading these forums who still plays WAR, at least on a active daily basis if anyone else does at all.  So, within the Vindictive community as a whole, any comment made about WAR players on Vindictive Community Forums will have a degree of the comment directed at me, personally, even if in jest with me, but blatant to others.  While its intention very well might not be meant to include me, I take offence because I am the only one here. Add in Jared's comment "Hear hear!  Tell it brutha!" supporting said comments, a person who I and others butted heads with in said game, adds fuel to the feeling of personal attack.

And lets not forget I have a Vent channel called "Nensi's crappy game (WAR)".  While done in fun, and one that I laughed at myself, maybe you can see why after it all adds up, the degree to which I take offence builds to the point I say something.  You can only throw out so many comments and jokes about a community someone is a part of, before they get offended.  Even if you think because they are your friend, they should know that you dont include them in said comments.  Without using any examples that are an exaggeration of this one, I simply ask: How long would you be willing to hear negative comments made by friends about a group of people you are a part of, before you are just tired of hearing it, even if not suposedly directed at you? 

Anyway thats my explination.  But as Tryden wishes, no more responses from me in this thread.
