No your toon does not get bumped unless you are testing new powersets such as electric armor in i 7, or the new ones for i11 dual blades and willpower (lame)

When the beta is over and test is open to everyone again (if its not already). test is used to clone your toon over from live onto a server where you can use your respecs without worrying about never getting them back.

And of course for teh pvpers who want to copy over their uber IOs!
