So you want to make some money eh, well the Auction House (AH) is the perfect place for this. Let us go over a few basic rules before we really start talking buisness. (Foo Fighters in the background)
1.) NEVER undercut a guild members price on the AH. Why? One reason this will drive the price down needlessly and two people will buy them both sooner or later.
2.) If the market is flooded with a particular item hold off on putting another one on the AH allow the others to sell so you can inflate the price agian.( At a nominal rate of course, no need to gouge someone we will get all their gold sooner or later).
3.)If you are selling a crafted item such as potions I use a simple multiplier of what the cost was x 1.5 this is a general rule. Some exceptions to this rule are DYE, TALISMANS.
4.)Farming things from Dungeons is always a good way to make some cash on the AH.
5.) Most people see a Blue or Purple item on the AH and are like "Ohhhh its a diff color I must buy this". Be resonable on the item it will sell.
6.)As a general rule set all Auctions to 72 Hrs, the less you have to fool w a specific item the better off you are.
7.)Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are the days you want to saturate the market with your goods.
8.)Never buy anything than a set piece off the AH unless you plan on reselling it for a higher price or a set piece of Armor.

Some really good sellers that I have found are
1.)Dyes- depending on the color and when people need armor dye'd
2.)Blue's and Purples along with set pieces sell really well on the AH anyday of the week.
3.)Liniments and certain potions usually the upper end one's sell pretty decent on the weekends.
4.)Talismans are something you can make a killing on esp. +18 perm and better.
Reselling items on the AH can be really profitable as well, 3 A.M. in the morning people just put junk on the AH to clear up bag space and you can get some really killer deals on things at that time if you happen to be on.
The most important thing is not to drive the prices down to far, keep things resonable and they will sell, we drop the price to low and we lose so with that have fun and make some gold.
