So i have been exploring the lands, considering diffrent places to establish our community. Recently i stumbled upon The city of Marianople (or marias nipples to a few) and i really like the area. There is a large city nearby for all our crafting needs, a waterway for easy passage into the seas with trade packs, and even an airship station nearby for easy solo trade runs in our country. Here are some pics of the area. Remember this is the alpha and the alpha servers have been around for a long time, so obviously on live servers it shouldnt be crowded and hopefully is left alone long enough for us to settle there.

Man that does look like a pretty top place to settle. If we got enough people soon enough we could claim that entire swath on the ridge and pretty much shut out any serious competition.

So i have been doing some thiking and was just curious on peoples opinions on having housing in a warzone....................

I'm not too keen on the idea of getting ganked while I'm farming, what would the benefits of this be?

The benefit would be defending your farm with your life! (jk jk, what are the benefits? lol)

There is a lot to it, first things first the goal of having most peoples homes in the same area is not mandatory but rather convenient.

On that note the place that I was exploring was Sanddeep. I currently own 2 farms and a house in Sanddeep in the alpha. Originally it was the only place that I found room for all my things in a close proximity so I moved.( i was in Dewstone planes at first, a safe zone) After a while I grew to like Sanddeep for a few reasons.....

PROS

1. The trade packs-Lots of people deliver to Sanddeep but not many deliver out of it. What does that mean to us??? We will be making major bank cause of it. Distance+Rarity of trade pack= $$$. Even the shorter routes have proven to be extremely profitable in correlation to the time spent traveling because of the general lack of people making sanddeep trade packs. This will be more important to us in the beginning of the game where making money faster will be important because of the limited tools we will have at first.(i.e. clipper runs instead of merchant ships)

2. The location of the housing and specialty workbenches within the territory-Sanddeep housing is extremely close to the shore and so are the workbenches. All that means its gonna be really easy to load on a boat and get on with your trade route.

3. The climate-Its one of 2 tropical locations on the western continent meaning you can grow different crops, trees and what not efficiently. (Also this is pure theory craft but If you grow trees from different climates in the "wrong climates" it will increase there growth time. That would normally sound like a bad thing except, the longer a trees growth time is it will have a higher chance of it becomming a thunderstruck tree. Thunderstruck trees= HUGE $$$$$)

4. The land grab- If you think we are the only ones planning out our methods of acquiring land you are wrong. All the safe zones are gonna be the most hectic. Everyone wants a house in safe zones. What does that mean for us.........Its gonna be hella ugly and sloppy. We might find some land and some asshole is gonna come out and try to throw down a small farm right where you were about to place your house =(. All the war zones on the other hand are gonna have a lot less competition.

CONS

1. Getting there-Once you go threw the towns you can teleport when ever you want, but the initial run there is gonna take a few minutes. Not a big deal but something to think about.

2. PVP-So from my personal experience, ganking has been a none issue. I spend Alot of time afk out in the open and haven't found my self dead. I have been killed twice while farming and I lived in Sanddeep since level 25. Also if we don't like our neighbors we can just kill them lol. Just as a disclosure I feel like players habits will vary at the beginning of the game and will change as the servers mature. What I personally think will happen is that as players progress through the game there will be activity in the zones that the majority of the community is leveling through but as the general populace keeps leveling they will move on and pvp areas will shift to the obvious more end gamish areas(not sanddeep).

3. Climate- You'll notice that its both in the pros and cons portion of the comparison cause just like certain plants will grow faster others will have extended growth time. Fortunately its not noticeable for the short growth time crops and what not but it will be more noticeable for the longer growth time items like certain farm animals and what not.

I haven't been on in a while been watching a lot of anime has everyone pretty much moved to arch age or do we still do zerg busting?
