The developers have hinted that Issue 12 will be a somewhat smaller "transition" issue, leading up to a big Issue 13.

Confirmed Content:

  • Positron: In Issue 12 we are going to have you never dropping below 50% Inf. earn rate when in Supergroup mode.[1]
  • BackAlleyBrawler: More weapon customization options (including additional Talsorian options)[2]
  • Lighthouse: Confirmed Bugfixes:[3]
    • Fixed the LRSF Tech so he doesn't run through walls
    • Fixed the Cap Tech so he actually follows you after being rescued
    • Fixed Bat Zul so that he doesn't run haywire with ONE debuff applied

Possible New Content:

  • Positron posted a message [4] with the words "furor", "what" and "poetry" in bold. It has been suggested that they are an anagram for fourth power tray, a new Quality of Life improvement.
  • New Zones: the names "Cimerora" and "Midnighter Club" leakedinto the Search dialog's zone list in early February. Their purpose isunknown so far; some have speculated Cimerora is the Rikti homeworld'scapital, but there is no confirmed source of this information.
  • New (Villain) Epic Archetype, Powersets("Shields" being one the highly speculated sets to be in development,it won the most wanted new powerset poll, but because of time required, was not put into issue 11), Badges, and/or Inventions.
  • Supergroup Base/Arena Upgrades

They really needed something big if they want to keep their subscription numbers,
It just looks like they cant make up ideas. So glad i dont pay for this game anymore.

Personally i think they should bring in a new powerset every issue. But i guess that would be asking too much of them considering the tech has been walking through walls every since issue 7.

issue 13 is supposed to be the big one and will deal with coming storm from what i understand issue 12 was supposed to be relatively small suprised it has that much maybe those zones are for issue 13 not 12.

Actually, NCSoft ass raped the development team of CoH/CoV. Here's a quote they recently released:

BAB~

Quote:

Betweenthe launch of CoV and Issue 8, the live team for CoH and CoV wasdramatically ramped down. Many of the people who had been working onthe project were moved over to work on MUO and by the end of Issue 8the live team's size had pretty much settled on what it's been since.

FromIssue 9 until very recently, the team size has been relatively small. We did have a couple of people come on from time to time to help withspecific things, but the team that is now with NCSoft and continuing towork on CoH/CoV are the only people who have been 100% focused onworking on this game since then. We lost a couple to MUO and otherprojects along the way and we brought in new people to replace them, but the live team has always been solely the CoX team.

It'sreally only been since the NCSoft buyout that that stalemate has beenreversed. We are ramping up to revitalize the franchise so we areactively in process of staffing up to move forward, but that is a slowoperation and you guys as players aren't going to be seeing the fullbenefits of an expanded development team until Issue 13 at theearliest. We've had a couple of new hires who have contributed to Issue12, but we're nowhere near full strength yet.

In short, we'rereally doing the best we can. We've been handicapped for a couple ofyears and were really struggling just to stay above water. Fixing thebugs that we could, addressing QoL issues, and developing new contentat the same time with the team size we've had has been nothing short ofmiraculous. That's a testament to how well our team works together andhow much we all care about this game.

It really pains me that wecouldn't do more up to this point, more so to hear accusations that wedidn't do enough, but I remain very optimistic and stoked about thefuture of this game, both as a player and as a developer fortunateenough to work on it

They've been struggling to stay above water they say, wow sounds around the time they implemented ED :/ Guess they hurt too many regens (aka all the wolverines no longer got played)

I honestly bitched at Cryptic more than anyone. But the huge cuts came after Issue 7 by NCSoft. And the fact is, i9, i10 and i11 were actually some of the best issues in terms of advancing the game to ever come out. No they weren't huge like i7, but that can be forgiven, because NCsoft really screwed the development team. It's usually the publisher who doesn't really know shit about the game and wants to make money that screw games over (see: Star Wars Galaxies).

Instead of adding new powersets, which doesn't really help in the long run because people can get a toon from 1-50 easily within a week, they should raise the level cap =/

1-50 = 1 week
50-60 could take awhile as well...and you can do this to ALL of your toons therefore making it "better" if their goal is to keep people playing.

However, 50-60 better not be...lvl 51 = new power...lvl 52-53 slots...lvl 54 new power etc...It should be something unique, or just a new power every level from 50 onward! =)!!!!!

Edit: And I DO mean new power, not taking it from other currently-existing powers.

Edit Edit: Yea new powers.

Edit Edit Edit: And by that I mean brand new powers.

Edit Edit Edit Edit: Completely new, never thought of, never seen in other MMoRPG, pretty much un-implementable because of our limited technology.

Raise level cap? meh no thx, i think i'd just like to have them add a game mode, called survival, where your in a small enclosed room, and enemies just spawn and spawn and you have to kill as many as you can before you die, obviously they would have to change the agro limit for it, but it would be wicked fun.

maybe even a zone you could go to, which would take you back to previous issues, of course there would not be any money or xp or prestige here, as farming was sooo much easier back in the day. This would purely be a zone where you could go back and relive the good days

The big changes I want to see:

PvP:

-Get rid of deteriorating reputation. Make high reputation something to be proud of by posting it on the CoH website in the upcoming CoH Vault.
-Rewards for killing players: give bounty in every zone, and open up the purchase of recipes with bounty, not just insps. That way players have a reason to PvP, and the ones who spend hours PvPing are rewarded adequetly.
-Cross-server arena and base raids. Self explanatory. We need queues you can join to be set up randomly with other people in arena, or create your own events. Same with base raids. SGs ready to raid should be able to join a queue, and be randomly paired with another raiding party, or be able to sent out invitations.

PvE:

-Villain content bitches. Double the amount of strike forces, give us new zones (at least 5 before heroes get shit), triple the amount of contacts in CoV, and give me extremely villainous missions like blowing up daycares and seeing how many innocent civillians I can slaughter in Paragon to get the attention of Lord Recluse. I wanna be like "FUCK YEAH I"M A VILLAIN SEAKING!"
-Cathedral of Pain going live: If this is a selling point on your box, and you don't have it up and running two years later, you fail about as hard as the picture below:

screenshot_2008-03-10-01-13-14.jpg

-Respecing villain patrons. Everyone obviously wants this, and no one wanted the not being able to solo TFs bullshit. Get on it.
-Making the Shadow Shard a co-op zone: Seriously. This has to the coolest looking zone in all of CoH/CoV. I have yet to see anyone in any of the Shadow Shard zones while in there, and when I do a /who all of Storm Palace, Cascade Archipelago or Firebase Zulu, no one's ever in there. Open it up to villains. Seriously.
-More end game content: I can has more stuff like STF and RSF please?

Yeah your right, CoH doesnt have bugs at all!!
Omg quick rad the invisible unaffected target!!
