Comes out autumn '09 who's ready for the next book! and according to the authors blog it's deep into production so it's ready for it's deadline.

i had a feeling it was going to be broken up into more than one book but 3 makes me sad. me and my mom think 3 is trying to milk people for there money, they coulda done it in 2. but we'll see.
 
I'm proud to announce that I recently finished a novel in the wheel of time series. I had a few false starts, but really once you get halfway through the book stops being dry and starts making sense and being quiet enjoyable.(I read the third novel. Twas on sale at the library.)

So for those that don't know, Robert Jordan is author of a 12+ book long saga, called Wheel of Time. Excellent series, the guy is a bit long winded he wants to describe every detail but if you could get through the Lord of the Rings(i never could) then you can get through these.&nbsp; Fantasy/adventure, completely made up world, original type of magic and such. it's really good. Any how, the author died last year(maybe 2 years ago?) right b4 finishing the last book. So they hired someone else to write them and the next one is due to release this fall. If you are a fan and read through all that available atm you have probably figured out that there is just way too much too sum up in one book and the new author thought so also. there are 3 more books due to come out!!! now i think they coulda probably done it in 2 but hey i'm no writer.

About 50 pages left in the first book for me. The man spoke truth up there, if you can get through lotr you can read this.
Its actually a nice change from the fluff I've been reading.
 
this guy had a huge weapon collection, which makes sense, given his comfort and ease in describing weapons and training and fighting and such. here, look
Also, would anyone recommend that I read the Conan works by him? I admit to being curious about the Conan-iverse since playing AoC. Not enough to watch a movie or anything, but still curious.
 
Robert E. Howard's works on Conan are the original and the best.  He made Conan and his storytelling is epic and chillingly amazing.  Jordan's might be ok but I dunno... he talked ALOT about woman's fashion in the WoT books...
 
Jordan's conan books were crap.  Howard ftw!

Frankly, I didnt care for the wheel of jesus wont this series ever fucking end time, either.  Not to say the man didnt have skills, I just dont happen to care for the style he uses.  LotR seemed easier to get through to me.

It's funny that I didn't notice that - I was too busy sighing my way through the boring White Cloak parts. Yeah yeah, storyline development schmoryline schmevelopment.
 
The female dresses and the fashion of whatsit city to the somedirection becomes more prevalent as the books go on.  Its almost like he needed filler and so thought "Hey!  These chicks are CRAZY for fancy clothes!  Harharhar!"
