I just made a Mind/Ice dominator and he's sitting at level four. I was wondering if anyone else was interested in running some dominators together and teaming.

They don't have to be dominators if you have something else low level, just that dominators are fun.

I'm going to be running my guy for an hour or so every night before switching to other toons. So if you play in the evening (10 pmish EST and later), and want to join me, let me know. I'm lonely villain side.

I don't know....never had one, are they any good?
I promise you Tryden, when I finish getting Xan to 50 and make my PB and get all my halloween badges, i will work on a toon with you on Vindictive.
But for now I have one week left before I can change my plans.
But I promise I will be joining u there soon!
Let me know what kind of Dom I should make.... but i do really like my Mastermind tho!

You know that i love dominators and trollers.  Almost as much as i love Stalkers

  But when the next patch comes out, im all over a blades/willpower brute for a while.  Till then, ill make a fire/fire dom.  I just cant get over how much dmg those little monkeys do.  Granted, ive never played a toon high enough to actually get them, but i can imagine

I like playing dominators more than controllers. And the question as to are they any good?

For a while dominators were just plain old bad. But now that they can have permadom through IOs, dominators are amazing. I have yet to have a mob actually attack me playing my Mind/Ice.

There are a lot of really potent combos with doms, and each have their ups and downs. Mind probably has the most sheer control because its holds, immobs confuses and fears are so hard to resist. Unfortunately, you don't get a pet as a result. So the 32-40 grind can get really tedious. Ice is amazing for its single target focus. Fire is great because with imps, you get damage in your primary. Grav has a lot of slows, and the best pet hands down, the Singularity, but is hard to play early on. Plant has a lot of AoE control, but lacks in PvP because its holds require the target to be on the ground. My personal recommendations for primaries for starters: Fire or Ice.

For secondaries (aka your damage set), I'd recommend any of them except /psi. Not that psi is bad, in the end it's one of the most powerful. Problem is, it takes till 38 for it to become one of the best secondaries. /Energy is great for damage, but it requires a lot of melee, so you have to play your dom sorta like a brute. Ice has great distance oritented damage, as does fire. Both are great in PvP. /Thorns is all around good too, because a lot of its attacks have range which allows you to attack from a safe distance.

ok ok, I made a Dominator... Did not like it in the beginning, I was tempted to delete it as soon as I made it...
I log in today and Tryden sends me a tell.... "Log in your dom" he said, "no thanks I will get my MM I like it better" I say.
"No, that will not work, I have a all dom team" he said, "whatever, I guess I am forced to play something I don't want to, just to keep your team all the same" I replied...
Well, ladies and germs, I logged into my Dom, and joined Tryden's team.  I was surprised how good the team was!
Everyone was doing a great job, and with the power sets I picked, I am glad now Tryden talked me into it.
I made a Plant/Thorn Dominator, and I am glad I did.
To be honest, I do enjoy CoH more than CoV, but I would love to take part in teams like this from now on!!!
I also have a Master Mind, Thug/Dark, and I really love that toon!
I will see you all on-line, and whenever you are all running a team like this, I would love to switch over and join you all!

Created a mind/ice dominator by the name of purple.star, i caught up to you guys (lvl 5) and was surprised at how fun she was to play. Was a tough choice between ice/ice and mind/ice but we'll see how we go.
 
Yeah i wasn't sure weather to go with tar patch and jack, or to go with Telekinisis. But TK won me over

Looks like a lot of people made dominators; now we just need a time when best to run them so we can do it together. What do you guys suggest? All we really need is about an hour a night. Something like 9 pm EST? Or maybe we can do it on certain nights, like every Wednesday night or something.

Suggestions?
 
I usually get on at 5.30 pm (GMT +10) time, if thats too late for you guys i can just play catch up anyway.

Lanks, there are a good chunk of people who play the hours you do. We should divide the doms into two different groups, and level that way. We can use this thread to make sure no one out levels each other. That way we can play together without having one or two people forced to play alone to catch up.

The first group can be those who play evening hours (i.e. not the late night crew). So 9 pm EST to about 10 or 11 pm EST. We could even start earlier. I'll start by putting myself into this group.

Lanks, Genma and Dream, since you guys play roughly the same time (and me sometimes at those times), chose a time and agree on it. Do we want to do this everyday and certain days a week? I think something like Mondays, Wednesdays and Sunday nights work. But we should agree on it.
