(Warning: The story below is NOT meant to offend any particular religion. The Jehovah represented in this story is NOT the Jehovah of Christian religion, rather a fictional diety.)

During the time before man there stood a proud and powerful race of beings known as, The Ancients. These were a people created by Jehovah, a being of unlimited power and knowledge, to act along side the angels in Its desire to be loved. Although The Ancients held powers similar to angels, they acted as counterbalances to the angels as Jehovah gave The Ancients free-will were he did not give this to the angels. It feared that The Ancients would one day rebel against It, and therefore took great care to make sure they could be defeated if need be without having to directly interfere. The Ancients will a tool of Jehovah were still quite an ingeniousness and productive race who created beautiful works of art, created now lost sciences, and wrote epic poems rivaled only by the Greeks. To fully understand The Ancients and their struggle one must observe how the lives of the queen, Katelin, and her guardian, Aemon Algiz, observed their kingdom before its downfall.
Katelin was a warrior queen, she was unequaled in skill with the katana and wielded a blade forged in the flames of the sun named, The Silk Moon. The blade itself was a representation of The Ancients' skill with art; on its hilt was a crescent moon filled with diamonds that ended were the blade began. The blade itself was engraved with symbols which in their language stood for,

“The Night,

The Day,

There is no end,

Except by this blade.”

The blade was rumored to be so sharp that it could even cut a soul ending a being's existence for all eternity. While her sword was powerful, her armor was also a piece of engineering perfection. Her armor consisted of three pieces: one for the chest, arm bracelets, and a winged helmet. Each piece was forged like her sword using the flames of the sun to cleanse it of impurities, and was imbued with countless protective spells that would allow her to move faster than any others of her race. The combination of her speed and grace with the katana made her a dangerous opponent for anyone who dare to cross her.

Aemon Algiz whose sole duty in life was to protect and follow the every order of his master, Katelin, was a rather odd fellow. He could have had a weapon, armor, or reputation like his master but instead he was known for being rather out of control in regards to his: temperament, affect, and actions. While I suppose that description of him is rather nice for the history books, in all reality he was for the most part completely insane. While this was quite true about him, he was completely loyal to his master and would not act beyond what she told him to do. Perhaps why Aemon was so out of control in the society was how he was treated by his fellow Ancients; his strength and physical durability was without question the greatest the land. He could stomp his foot to the ground and create an earthquake, and be smashed with a megaton hammer and laugh it off.

In their culture, physical power was viewed as rather repulsive and barbaric while the artful nature of the blade was seen as one of the greatest arts one could ever achieve. So through this view of Aemon's abilities, people would constantly pester him and poke fun at him, as they know he would not harm them due to Katelin's control. This does not mean that Aemon was a simpleton simply following orders, rather he was quite intelligent and hid it behind a mask of brute force. He had spent years studying the arts of , “Dark Magicks” and had gained his physical power and resistance through mastering their arts creating what he called, “Dark Armor.” Beyond studying magicks, he also took great pride in studying the architecture that abounded in their capital city, Dreden.

The city of Dreden was a Rome like city clustered with about half a million Ancients, a large suburb, and ornate central city. In the very center of the city was a statue of Jehovah, and the form was similar to the Classical period with its emphasis on perfection. The statue depicted Jehovah as a benevolent god while It was holding a child in Its arms feeding it with the light of Heaven, and It was shown as a mix of male and female. The face of the statue was female with long flowing hair, while the body was male with larger muscles and skeletal form. Growing from around the statue was the city of Dreden, and there stood countless buildings whose style was reminiscent of the Greeks and the Romans. Most notably was the capital building, which on the inside had the epic poem, “The Struggle” engraved on the walls. This poem was a story of how the Ancients would eventually enter into a great conflict with an enemy they could not overcome, but they would not be completely destroyed. The story claims that while their would be great pain and strife for their civilization, they would survive on and eventually destroy the force that overcame them. The main hall of the building had several pillars that guided anyone entering it to the various offices that could be found in it and were in a Doric style.

The offices that the pillars lead to were adorned in wall carvings of weapons, sculptures of their peoples, and books of the law. The capital building beyond being beautiful was also the hub for all law related situations for The Ancients. The law was created by Katelin, and would be enforced by various governing agents chosen by the people by a popular vote. These governing bodies would then hear cases varying from: robbery, assault, and battery and would make judgments on how the situation should be handled. Although the law was very specific on how to classify a crime, it was vague in how punishment should be dealt allowing the judges to handle cases on an individual basis. Being elected by their fellow Ancients, the judges were often careful with their decisions and put considerable thought into them before making a ruling. During the evolution of their system of law the Ancients began to evaluate their legal system with Jehovah's and made a terrible discovery.

The Ancients began to realize that there were countless contradictions in the Word of Jehovah including how to treat others around you. The mood of the laws would flip between good and evil without warning, and this troubled the Ancients. They began to study the energies released from Jehovah and found that Its energies would fluctuate between positive and negative (negative meaning dark or evil, and positive meaning light or good) at random intervals. This revelation meant that the god The Ancients served was not a being of pure love, rather a being of lies and betrayal. Being the proud race that they were, the Ancients could not let such a betrayal go unpunished and went to Katelin to ask what they should do.

Katelin was enraged at this news and ordered that their armies assemble and prepare for an assault on Heaven and Jehovah Itself. Katelin's plan was simple as she would have vast majority of her armies distract the angels, while Aemon and herself attack Jehovah head on in in hopes that their combined strength and skill would be enough to overtake It. It took a twenty four hours for the army to prepare for battle and when they were prepared Katelin opened a door way to Heaven with her magicks and the battle was begun. Fifty thousand strong the army of The Ancients marched on Heaven and were quickly met with the army of Jehovah whose numbers were countless. Despite being outnumbered The Ancients marched bravely to confront the army, and within a matter of moments the battle began to rage. The Ancients army quickly cut a line straight the middle of the angels, leaving the defeat behind them while Aemon and Katelin led the way. Angels were trying their best to reach the two strongest Ancients, but the army would not let them near them cutting off their limbs or removing their heads. When Jehovah's throne became visible, Katelin grabbed Aemon's arm and made a swift dash towards It moving so quickly that the angels had no time to react to her charge.

Katelin released Aemon's arm and made a lunge at Jehovah's chest peircing Its flesh like body, and It let out a horrible scream of pain. It then shouted, "How dare you attack Me.... IN MY KINGDOM!" The Ancients and their army was then flung from heaven and returned back to the earth. As they hit the ground, Jehovah stripped them of their power and commanded his newest creation the Humans to destroy The Ancients.

In the aftermath, only Aemon had survived beaten and bruised from the horrible slaughter. Using his dark magicks he summoned the souls of the dead Ancients and revived his power and his master Katelin. This is where the history books draw a blank, and maybe one day Katelin and Aemon will have their revenge on Jehovah and Its wicked deeds.
