RE: FF XIV: ARR release date announced For anyone remotely interest in the game open beta is this weekend Aug. 16th-19th. You can play up to level 20 and the characters you make in this beta carry over to the main game when it releases Aug. 27th. I'll be on &nbsp;Gilgamesh.

I check their forums every week or so to check on the progress, they were originally going to use Cryengine 3 but then switch to Unreal 3, from what i've seen it looks pretty decent.
