So I downloaded some pirated software off Pirate Bay called Easy Recovery Professional from Ontrack.

111 hours to go, but it says it can recover all my data and has gotten back about 24 files so far.

Well, most of those programs actually work by reconstructing the file tree associated with that particular drive. So, essentially it's functioning as a FIXMBR command, but quite a bit more detailed.
