So I've been thinking of dusting off the good old age of Conan. Seeing that we are such an awesome gaming community I was seeing if anyone would like to play it with me. Its a ftp mmo based on Howards Conan universe. Its your traditional trinity class mmo. You have your tanks healers and dps (melee or spells). There's more to the game that you would have to check out for yourself. ATM the original aoc dungeons and two of the raids are available to ftp. The xpac dungeons and higher tier raids are for subscriber. I will definitely still be playing gw2. Was just looking for a change up once in awhile. For those who had a problem with how buggey the game was at launch those issues were resolved. Its an awesome game (looking at you rumble).

Is there any point to be a FTP in that game? only reason I am asking is I just refuse to be in a pay to win game. I like gw2 set up you can pay for stuff but its not a pay to win. I have always wanted to try the game looks cool just dont like getting sucked into a game that requires you to pay to win

If you're looking for a game with awesome crafting and an economy. aoc is not it. crafting is pointless and the trader is crap. The game is basically lvl to max and run dungeons and raids for the best loot drops. Also for the PvP. Although its a traditional facetank mmo the strategies can be more complex depending on what mode you choose to try the dungeon in.

For me the game is fun. I love the mechanics. Animation and character movements are awesome. The best loot in the game are in the higher tier raids and xpac dungeons. So yes its a ptw grindfest. But I was more interested in playing something different once in awhile. To be honest I just want the casual ftp game. I'm not interested in paying a subscription anytime soon. But if you really like the game you can sub and join an endgame guild.

Fair warning, the xpac with Khitai was beautiful but god awful. Unless you're into rep grinds and dailies for a tedious gear treadmill that is (complete with dailies and mob grinding!)... The last time I played was in early 2011 I believe so maybe they made it better?

As for the adventure packs following the xpac, I don't really know too much about the content. I would hope they're better than the xpac but the only way to find out is to buy them.
