So, while we were talking about Final Fantasy XIV, I started thinking of the good times I had in Final Fantasy XI. Needless to say I have reactivated my account and I am giving it another whirl. Would anyone be interested in joining me? I am currently on the Bismarck server but would be willing to transfer as the only other person I know who plays is currently on hiatus. Just let me know.

I promised myself after 10 years of that game I would never go back. I miss that game so much. Still have not found anything that compares to it MMO wise.

It has been about 4 or five years for me, my wife is so pissed at me right now. She hated it when I played that game.

I have to agree with you that not much really compares. There is so much that I have missed, I don't even know where to start(I left about mid ToAU).
 
I miss that game too. It was my first MMO. Partying in that game was awesome (once you finally found a group after waiting for 2 hours), it never felt like mindless 1-5 key pressing like most other games. I played for a year and half and only made it to lvl 57 or so. 

Anyway, I will download it again and give it a spin. Id been meaning to once my stupid year long WoW sub died.
 
Sounds good, any idea what server you are on? I have just been spending the weekend leveling up the fellow NPC and my Beastmaster. Plus I hear that now you can actually solo into the 50's or 60's(unconfirmed) with Field manuals a.k.a kill this many then get an instant 500+xp. Plus I see on their test server they have introduced Monster Play.

Again, I am on Bismarck and the name is Zephonim.
 
I dont think I can get my old account back. Hella long ago and I've lost nearly all information on it. May have to re-roll.

Edit: Good fucking grief. Why is it such a pain in the ass to use Playonline.

If you think that is bad, wait until you have to use your Square Enix account... they just can't make shit easy. And then try to use Click&Buy... know to be used by scammers so my bank locked my debit card for trying to use it... on a Friday night.

Having fun in FFXI though^^
 
I think I finally got it working, but on a new account. All I know from my old account is the pol email :/

Edit: Wow, I have an ungodly amount of updating to do. 26k files.

Im on Bismark (sp?) name is auroc. Hume warrior for now I guess.

Oh so you have not experienced the Abyssea exp/cruor parties. I had all 20? jobs at 99 once the third of the abyssea exspansions came out. Partyies were getting up to 144k/hr. So from ToAU to Abyssea there was a drastic change.Make sure you level a NIN, WAR (with a ukko fury), DNC, or THF. You can basically solo everything in the game with those jobs now. But the first thing you should do getting back is focus on getting abyssites and atmas they make you a god in Abyssea and things go by alot easier. I need to stop talking about this game its making me want to play again. And like cold said even in exp parties you get so engaged it wasn't ever all that boring grinding out levels. God I hope 14 is as engaging. 
 
Yeah I have been reading all about abyssea... it sounds crazy compared to the old days. As far as those jobs go I saw a video where a 75NIN/DNC solo'd Behemoth, I remember when raids would have to take him down. So much to learn. I hope they fixed 14, I would have been happy with them cloning 11 and just updating the graphics.

I was trying to add you all day today, kept telling me "You cannot add this player right now." For some reason I think I remember both parties having to be online at the same time. Not sure though, I will try again tomorrow. You might be able to /befriend Zephonim.
