Mark your calenders people, this weekend will be our first "guild-play" weekend. We will be kicking this series off with Lord of the Rings:Online. <strike>I am not sure which server yet as my copy hasn't yet finished downloading, but once it is I will update this post.</strike> EDIT: We will be playing on the Brandywine server. In order to help people group up easier we will be playing either Men or Hobbits.

Go here for the website/trial signup/download. <strike>You have to sign up for the trial before it will let you start downloading the game, but since it is a ten-day trial, you should be able to sign up today or tomorrow and have it downloaded with plenty of time to spare. </strike>EDIT: You can download the game without actually signing up (not surewhy you wouldn't just set up the trial account now, but hey, were allabout options here. Hit up the link for the download page


The wikipedia has some great information about the game including classes, the player-housing system, etc...

I will be on to start playing around 5pm pst so grab an account, start downloading, and get on vent to join the fun! Once again, even if this week's particular game doesn't make you wanna jump up and down with excitement, ditch your other games for a weekend to do the "Vindictive" thing.
 
Everyone knows I am a HUGE fan of this game.

SO EXCITED! Will be on vent probably around 6 p.m. EST.

Also, I play on Meneldor, but it's the lowest pop. server. I chose it because I mostly solo to enjoy the game's storyline (lol, RP fag, etc.). Brandywine, Elendilmar, and Landroval are considered the three most active servers. Landroval is the "unofficial" RP server, and Elendilmar isthe "unofficial" Oceanic server.

Do we want to chose a certain race to roll as well Friday night? The game is very story-driven, and actually starts off in a seperate instance you have to do for 20 minutes or so. Then another race-specific instance that takes about an hour (Elves and Dwarves are seperate, Men and Hobbits get grouped up). IMO I think we should do Men or Hobbits so we can group up and have some minor variety.

Also I'm recommending Brandywine to set up shop.

Coooome on, ditch WAR (or whatever is keeping your fancy these days) for a weekend and come play with us!
 
I'm pretty sure it's calendAr.  How the hell do you mispell something that's on the freakin page already?

Though, I was thinking perhaps it's a regional spelling difference (like the brits do) and remembered when my mom made a calendar for my family in Poland.  She found some really nice NASA space photos and it was all fancy looking when at the last minute she realized she had done the names in English and quickly fixed it. 

She sends them off to Poland and they call back thanking her and telling her how lovely it was but she had left the word "calendar" (which is similar in Polish) with a C at the beginning rather than K which was correct, because Polish is a phonetic language.

I'm downloading it just as fast as London Bridge (aka my internet) will let me.
I will play as much as I am able but my boyfriend has been spiriting me away on weekends up to undisclosed locations in the mountains. I'm good for Friday until about 4 pst, and if I get it downloaded today I will mos def be playing.
See you on Brandywine, then. I'll probably be Gorbella or Frooz.
 
i will play as much as i can also but i have to sleep and work and stuffs. kinda fallen into a normal life with no mmo to play (cue creepy music) Dun dun duuuuuun!

and i'm sure tryden has someone who edits his stuff for spelling, he is our all powerful overlord and commands legions of followers after all
 
id love to download it, if the fucking registration page would work.  ive filled out that bastard 4 times, and every time it says something about the page not working and to go back to do it again.  so far, im not liking the game......

i fixed it.  all is well with the world.

Yup happened to me too stomp,
it also does it to me sometimes when i try to login, says its an incorrect password, but after typing it out 4 more times, i get to log in 8)
 
I'm having install issues, still trying to figure out how to fix it. It wants directx 9, while I have 11, and won't download it from the microsoft site (probably because they are letting people download 10 right now, not 9.) Also, do I need to download patches? fileplanet has about 300 of them. Help meh please.



EDIT: If someone else runs into this, go here and follow directions. it did not work for me, but then again I have windows 7/64 not vista/32.

That's odd. Check around the trial forums for some help. People seem generally pretty helpful (it solved my connection issues). A reinstall of directx may help as well. Hope you get things fixed up!

I've scoured that forum and google and nothing is working. I would've liked to play this game, but right now I'd really rather be stabbing it in the eyeball, oh about as many times as I've tried something new to make it work - approximately 57 times.
If someone had this problem and resolved it, please state your solution soon. I don't know how much longer I'll be keeping a useless game on my system.

EDIT: As a last try I restarted my computer, and guess what.. It fucking worked.



moral of the story: When all else fails, restart the computer?
