July 17th, LOTRO!

I'm guilty of the above. I hope to be on tomorrow, just got my account back up. It got suspended after the non-payment with the credit card.

But yeah Ash, I totally agree, there is a general problem of what you're talking about in this guild. And to resolve it we need to address it from the top (I had a good talk about this with Stomp. It's why we lost so many good players in Warhammer after all).

I will refrain from reiterating most of what Ash said (mainly because I did already then the damned forum thing ate my post) but she expressed what I have been feeling. The general lack of community is very disappointing. I had a high level of excitement going into this last weekend and while I had an absolute blast playing with peeps again, it was tainted by the fact that the most people we ever had online was six. And that was for a grand total of an hour before people went their separate ways and it makes it really hard to start building a guild around a core of three players.

The hype around Aion is similar to the hype we had going into LOTRO, but why should I pre-order it if were going to have the same exact problem? This is a community and of course there is no obligation to come play, just saying that my faith in our little group took a couple hits over the last week. Ash, Lanks and I are still chugging away in LOTRO, having a blast, and would love for you (yes, you) to join us. Like Ash said, we can send out trial keys and the game is TEN BUCKS. The WHOLE FUCKING GAME. Orginal, expansion, 2 in game items (that are actually pretty useful) and thirty days of play time for TEN DOLLARS. If you need a comparison for the more budget conscious amongst us, then I shall oblige.

Ten dollars WON'T buy you:
A regular, adult movie ticket (using the national average)
Two Chipolte burritos
Four gallons of gas
A new music CD
30 days of Warhammer, WoW, CoX or any other AAA MMO title

Ten dollars WILL buy you:
This game and thirty days of play time

Just saying...

I really wanted to join in on the fun over the weekend, but as I told Tryden, I had a big knot in the middle of my neck, which I still have, that was giving me rather severe migraines from Thursday till Monday or Tuesday... :p Just checking email and stuff was bad enough, can't imagine what playing a game like that would have been like... :-S

Ooo, suck man, hope you get to feeling better. Feel free to come join the fun though, as I said, there are a faithful few still playing, ;-)

Ouch do I even want to know how you managed that >.> anyways (((huggles)))

But back on topic, Yeah I'll admit there was some rage in that post. But all I am trying to do is rattle the foundation and get people back together again.

Right now we have people playing WoW, War, CoH and several single/multiplayer games. It cant be that hard to at least give something a try. And not giving up after 5min because something is not working ( signup, gfx problems, no money (its a free trial!?) PC problems) You have a bunch of people here that can help you out if you are willing to ask for help..

Also the problem with Vent a lot of people refuse to use it for who knows what reasons. Well Vent is a nice and handy tool. You dont even have to use a mic. Just listening to people can help because its easier to talk then to type. Signing on to vent atleast shows that you are trying to be with the others in the group. And in case you really hate and dislike vent there is always X-fire that is a great tool that can help the guild. Hell even clay has it and that says a lot =p

I apologize for not going in vent lately. Both my headphones and my mic are broken, so I can't talk, and sharing a room with other people who like to play music loudly and who dislike hearing conversations about one game while playing another means that I won't be listening until I can get these things replaced.
I might have found a job, so I could possibly be able to buy myself these things and the lotro game (which I am pretty happy with, and would be more happy with if I could do things with guildies) fairly soon. If the job doesn't pan out though, I'll still be at zero.
I did get xfire though. Most people are welcome to message me if they see me on, but remember that I have a tendency to wander away for long periods.

</div><div>I haven't had the chance to build my own rig yet and my desktop is still burnt in the corner of my room :[</div><div>
</div><div>And I agree with Tryden's statement as well.  People who like Vindictive for its community usually stay, and for a long damn time as well, but people who join us, expecting us to rise to the top and stay there are usually disappointed.</div><div>
</div><div>So what's there to be done?  We can always weed people out of the guild by having a minimum hours of logon per week or whatnot, but that's just way too lame, mainly because I'll be the first one to get kicked out :[</div>

And obviously that would be the completely, totally, wrong thing to do. I may have made a mistake in trying to push this on everyone this last weekend. It seems like it just wasn't good timing. But hey, were still playing it and, O look! The weekend! It starts tomorrow! :)

Well, my trial account went inactive and so I would have to buy it to continue.<div>
</div><div>BUT... while it is true its not all the expensive and possibly the best MMO deal out there right now I don't think LotRO is really for me.  Hanna doesn't seem all that interested overall and I'm not really a fantasy genre fan myself.  I agree that LotRO is a good game but even ten bucks seems to be more than I want to spend on it at the moment.  I know I might've sounded optimistic before but I've talked it over with Hanna and we've pretty much settled on this view unless regular guild time/effort is put into LotRO over a more extended time.</div>

My account is back up after the suspension. Woot!

Also Renek and I hope to use Great Barrows as a way to recruit into Benediction on LoTRO and build up the guild. If anyone wants to roll a Minstrel we need a dedicated one right now (which Ill do if no one else does).

And Nen, I love you. Dont forget that, and turn that frown upside down

Just adding my two cents on LotRO.  While I don't find anything wrong with the game, I just am not excited about it either.  Also (but not the only reason) I only played the intro part, but I feel like you're playing a rehash of an existing and established story.  SW Galaxies was sorta like that. Just by being in a universe where you're constantly comparing the game story to a established story, the game felt stunted. I emphasize felt, meaning that probably wasn't how it actually was. Just a personal perception.<div>
</div><div>Over all the game just felt like vanilla.  While waiting for other games to come out, I'm just getting more fun out of CoH. </div>

So we lost Jerry, he decided to try things solo but seemed to be a good player so we should try recruiting him again once we get bigger. Got us a healer tonight, level 20 Mini named Autotune(get it?). It was great to see you on Claymore! So yeah, if you group with peeps and they are competent and 18+ invite away.<div>
</div><div>Hannah, Jared, we understand but would love to see ya come back once we get bigger! As for this game feeling like SW Galaxies...I dunno if such a harsh comparison is fair,

I cant play at the moment, unfortunately.  Started a new job, so I spend some personal time learning new things about it as well as some OT hours.  I have sundays and mondays off, but sundays are the only day I get to spend with buddies in real life due to my schedule of 2pm-11pm (gasp, yes, there actually ARE people who can tolerate me
face_grin.gif
) and mondays are my laundry/lawn/auto maintenance/shopping/etc days.

Not to mention I spend 9 hours a day at work staring at a fucking computer screen, which somehow dampens my enthusiasm for doing the same once I get home.

So none of you will probably see me actually online in a game for a few months -_-;

Lame Mal, lame.

Also I just dropped $25 to transfer my level 29 lore-master to Brandywine. FML, etc.

But let's get those Great Barrow runs set up soon

So the LOTRO online roster at this time:

Renek
Lanks
Tryden
Ashelia
Claymore

I think Stomp, Frooz and Taichi also are playing.

Got one new person in the guild.

Nice to chat with everyone last night. It's an interesting game so far. I'll be on later today, hopefully. Won't be on much tomorrow though... Going to the big race here in town and all that. Hopefully it will be an actual race this year... >.>

My trial is over, and my job prospect fell through; so I haven't played lotro lately. I got a coupon for $5 off at best buy but I can't find the game at bestbuy.com. I'm hoping that if I go in I'll see one on the shelf or in a bin. I would still have to figure out how to get the monthly sub still, but I'm going to take it one step at a time. My bank just called and offered me a checking account for some reason, so there is hope.

So I guess the verdict on the game was "Yes, sort of." ?

Not much point in playing it now, no one gets on anyway.
I guess save your money until something you actually want to play comes out.
