So as with every game, it is only fitting that we come up with some meta builds for Warframe, specifically the different types of runs, especially high level ones. Rumor has it that high level interceptions and hijacks will be coming out, so I thought that we could try to incorporate some of those builds ahead of time if possible, and try to be ready day 1 for that content. meta builds will first describe the roles, and then breakdown team comps for each mission type.
1) Ultra tank: Frost or Rhino, potentially Oberon if built as such
This class needs to be able to take some serious punishment, especially from the likes of fusion moa, napalm, bombards, techs, and ancients. Either defensive boosting or PBAoE are acceptable, but this person needs to be specced heavy defense. They need to be able to dish out sustained damage with weapons, and be able to quickly recuperate so that they can deal with the next heavy.
Recommended primary: LMG such as Supra or Soma, or if against infested, high-cap shotguns like Strun or Phage. Synapse is also acceptable here against Corpus
Recommended secondary: bring a shotgun pistol (bronco, detron, brakk) or go for high elemental damage (embolist, tysis)
Recommended Melee: Heavy weaponry with cleave (Scindo, Galatine, Jat Kittag, Ether Reaper, Fragor, Hate, Reaper prime, Magistar)
2) Glass cannon Burst: Nova, Volt, Ember
This role is all about the potential to lay down a huge AoE burst. These frames should be modded out for full offense, save for maybe one slot for high level redirection/Vitality so that enemies can't simply 1-shot later on. These frames should spec primarily into power range and strength, taking efficiency where possible. They should ALL be carrying energy siphon and a powerful secondary weapon.
Recommended Primary: Pretty much anything that isn't a launcher or a shotgun (exception here is the Hek). I prefer taking full auto as the lack of durability means that there isn't a long period for target acquisition. Assault rifles work well here, especially Karak, Dera, Braton, Boltor, Grakata, and Soma. Note that Supra is NOT recommended on this build.
Recommended Secondary: Cestra, emoblist, Lato Prime or Vandal, Bolto, Spectra
Recommended Melee: With the high movement of this frame, I would recommend Long swords or dual weapons
Utility/Damage Casters: Nyx, Zephyr, Mag, Banshee, Vauban, Trinity, Excalibur, Nekros, Loki
From a scale of Glass cannon to stonewalls, these setups are towards the middle with a bias towards glass cannons. They use massive utility, along with damage to help the team. They mainly spec evenly into all four power categories, but can be tweaked to be used as needed. The absolute must-have mod here is Flow, as they are extremely reliant on abilities to be useful, instead of just being another gun.
Recommended Primary: Pretty much anything under the sun, except for standard shotguns. The tankier the frame, the closer to suppression they should be playing. Lighter and more agile frames should concentrate towards snipers and battle rifles. General full auto works really well, and burst fire shines in this category.
