Raid Tactics

The last few raids we've done have been very successful and they all follow the same basic formula.  However, this past Saturday we modified our tactics to include some of the tricks that have been used against us.  The below is an outline of our basic tactics.

OFFENSE:
A small team of brutes/stalkers enter enemy base with the single objective of finding, and disabling the enemy generator.  This team consists of no more than 4 members and can be no fewer than 2.

A second team made of the same mix, primarily brutes and stalkers enter enemy base with the single objective of finding and dismantling the medical facilities.  This may seem redundant, but if team 1 fails or is held up, getting rid of their medical facilities is CRUCIAL!

Team three.  My personal favorite.  This team of 5 or more, MMs, Doms, Corruptors.  They find the entrance to the base.  Once the generator/medical facilities are down this team sees a lot of action.  This team holds off the enemy from coming into their own base.  Since the medical facilities are down this is the enemy's only way back into the base.

Anyone not on the above teams looks for DAs and makes a general nuisance of themselves.  Get in the way of the enemy.  Slow them down, keep them off balance.  If they have prisons, TP them into their own jails.

Once Team 1 and Team 2 accomplish their missions these two teams will merge.  They will become DA hunt 1.  Those who were previously unassigned and who were getting in the way now become DA hunt 2.  Please note that this does not prevent you from looking for and destroying DAs prior to this phase of the raid.

Following these tactics requires good communication skills.  To this end, we have Ventrillo.  PLEASE download and get ventrillo working.  There is a sticky in these forums that describes how to do that.  When we communicate, we work like a well oiled machine.  Anyone who was there for our first Win/Win can atest to that.

DEFENSE:

Defense is a little harder.  It depends TOTALLY on the number of people that show up and what their powers are.  We have various prisons throughout the base and we will TP foe into them.  This is a temporary fix as the easiest way out seems to be to log out and back in.  Either way, you've kept someone out of commission for at least 2 minutes.  Good as killing em in my opinion.

Our other priority will be to defend the generator and the reclamators.  Teams will be stationed in key positions to do that.  Other members will be roving death dealers.  YOU MUST COMMUNICATE!  Focus on one target at a time.  If you see your stalker team mate start to AS someone, attack the same person.  Double and triple team em!  Hell, go 8 on 1!  Just kill them!  The more time they have to spend going to and from their base to ours, the better.

Keep these basics in mind and we will do fine.

That sounds rather well thought out,  a little meeting with the whole SG to get it all implemented and a working raid to try it out, and it sounds like we will rock even more than we do now!!

Excellent strategy !! This HAS to work.

THE OFFENCE STRATEGY IS VERY SOUND TACTICS. ON DEFFENCE AS A M.M. OR CORRUPTER I HANG AROUND BASE DEFFENCES AND USED ALOT OF HOLDS LIKE FEAR,TAR PATCH AND SUCH TO MY ADDVANTAGE. THATS HOW I GOT 9 HERO KILLS.

This definitely needs updating. I'm gonna un-sticky it, and maybe create a new one if I can get some feedback from our current officers on what our raid tactics should now be.

Same here. Glad Stone Fang isn't putting together our raid tactics anymore.

Speaking of which, while we're here, I'm updating new raid tactics for Vindictive's raid team. They'll be altered slightly from Benediction's so we can deal with hero raid teams. For now, I'm only going to discuss them with a select few people to keep them as secret as we can until the raid (obviously those who sign up for the first raid will be told them beforehand, on top of training, 8 v 8 against ourselves, in the arena. Just like we did with Benediction).

Just like Benediction's raid team, we want to keep our team composition secret, as well as our tactics.

Also, Jared updated me today on the raid team's progress. Seems like it's coming along nicely. Good job everyone.

4 forts FTW! *goes and looks for a 4th for the raid team* lol. Me, False and Jared have found that 3 really seems to be where they become really effective. 4 is bonus and awesomeness. Thought I have my doubts still about them being effective against other villain groups running many VEATs themselves.

I like our raid tactics better myself. These seem to waste a lot of time and involves spawn camping and other bad stuff.
