Sad Day

Know that I write this is a deep sadness in my heart, as this hurts me more then I can honestly ever put into words.

Tryden / Thoughtless has taken a step.  One that has led him away from Vindictive.  I've recently received word via text and phone calls that he is no longer going to be with us.  I honestly am typing this with tears in my eyes and I honestly don't give a fuck what anyone says about it.  He was a close personal friend to me and to a lot of others as well.  The site will stay up (its not going to go down, honestly, probably ever.  I have too much fun on it) and Vent will remain to be up as well.  Dont think that cause he is gone, I will follow suit.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news to you guys, but he chose to leave silently because he knew that you guys, the actual heart and soul of Vindictive, would more than likely be able to talk him out of it.  Believe me, I tried.  But he and I have many talks in the past about this course of action and all the points that he brought up I couldn't honestly counter with more than 'But ill be losing a best friend'. 

Vindictive was brought into being 4 years ago by Tryden, Ivy, Hock, myself and countless others.  It will remain my home away from home for as long as I am playing any game that allows that title to be above my head.


As a proud member of the US Navy, I can only give him the farewell that relates to me the most.

I'm a bit dumbfounded. Actually, a lot dumbfounded.

Will he be completely gone from everything vindictive? Xfire, twitter, vent and the like? Forever?
Will someone else become the main Guild Leader? Will there be guild related activities still?

If Try happens to see this, I'd like to say: Thank you so much for this past not-quite-year. This remains the best guild and best online community I've ever been a part of, thanks in large part to you. I wish you would stay - perhaps pull a Vork.

Can you really blame the guy though? It was draining to GM the Aion chapter and that was co-GMing with Tryden and Ash. It makes the game really unenjoyable when you know that logging on you will have people sending you tells right away asking for help, informing you of some new drama, etc...So yes, very sad to see Tryden go but not really to surprising.

I'm still planning to stick around. Can't see myself quitting this place any time soon.

I've only been part of Vindictive for going on a year or so now, but you all may as well be my second family. It truly is a shame to see him go, but he surely is leaving for the betterment of himself. This being the only case I can live with happily, I hope nothing but the best for John. Love ya buddy, hopefully I'll be able to talk with ya every now and then.

Seriously, never did i see this coming and what a shitty way to go but i remember it being hinted at back when we all used to play COV together.  Try, if you read this, twas a pleasure knowing you man and our nights with just the three of us, me you and stomp were some of the best ever in vent.  Take care man, wish i could have played with ya more over the past few years but our gaming paths went in diff routes.

Wtf. I don't get this at all. It isn't like this is just a guild. This is a community of friends, that is why I am still around. Everyone knows I'm an asshole, but you guy's have accepted my niche and have accepted me, and I love you guys for it. There is no way Tryden can just leave. Not gaming is one thing, but bailing on people who truly care about you is another. I could care less if he plays the games we play, sure his presence is always nice, but being around with friends is much nicer. I myself have taken a break from MMOs and dont intend on playing one until Star Wars is released, and when I play that I wont be so hardcore about it like I have been about MMOs in the past.

With that said, I think leaving the community would be a huge mistake on his part. We will all miss him, and I don't think anyone will understand why he just left a group of friends. Gaming aside here, I would talk to guys if our hobby was Solitaire.
