Well, it could be a good thing or a bad thing. The situation might be that Bethesda told the development team that they can have as much time as they need to put out the best game they can.

There is also the possibility ... that the game is missing all its deadlines and Bethesda doesn't want to keep embarrassing itself with delays. Something similar happened with Warhammer Online midway through its development cycle. Mythic delayed it and didn't commit to a release date for a few months.

I hope it's the former situation.
