So... I was going to resub for at least a month of WAR to try the new expansion figuring that if huge patches like this can make the game better then maybe it can still be fun and entertaining.Except that their account management software is so terribad that I've tried ten times to reactivate my account today and each time it has some shitastic error.Whenever I can finally resub I'll join whoever's still playing (I hear Zaz is and once every twelve years Tryden logs in

you have to hit reactiveate account to get it to work.  Their page sucks and instructions are even worse and yes i am still playing the game.

I am pretty sure I've been hitting reactivate, but could you post a screen of what I'm supposed to hit exactly in case I'm not reading something correctly?
 
I cant because i have an active account but on the log on screen for their account man. there is an activate account with a free 10 day called the "Call to Arms Re-Enlistment Campaign" try it there i think you will get it.

I could list all the changes made but you would be better off reading the patch notes.

As for now no one has seen Land of the Dead yet as far as I know.

The current Live Event is.. blah.
 
If I understood the way the tomb kings expansion is going to work, its gonna suck for destro.  Kinda like attacking the capital cities, access to TK will be controlled by a gateway area, which the two factions will fight over and lock down (like the zone lockdowns for city pushes), restricting one side from entering.

Admittedly, this was just a quick skim through the email that WAR sent me trying to get me playing the game again, and I could have read it completely wrong as I wasnt paying all that much attention to it.  However, should I be correct in my understanding, get ready to never see the new content unless you join Order on another server. (unless things have changed massively since I quit)
 
You will see at as either side on most other servers beside Vortex.

The system works based on resource gathering.  The side that wins controls the area for 30 min.  However the side that loses picks back up where it left off in resources after that 30 min whereas the side that won starts from zero.  And when the new side gets in, they can actually invade the dungeons others are in, and clean them out.  So if you ever ran bastion Stair or BLood or Bile.. imagine doing that and another party from the opposing side shows up and tries to clean you out.  And it is limited to a single group so you wotn get zerged.  Just gotta watch your abck after 30 min.

So even on Vortex, Destro will see the new content.  Just only at limited times to start with until Order has had its fun and there interest kinda dies out.
 
Edit: I give up. Guildportal has been just as assinine today for me and has eaten my fifth post. I'll write up my opinion tomorrow.Fuck you Guild Portal.

I tried that but my account wasn't inactive for 30 straight days (at least not yet) and so doesn't qualify.

Here's hoping that GP doesn't eat another type-up...Nensi and Malithia: Yar, that sounds pretty dead on to what all of Mythic's little self-congratulating videos have so far said about the new patch. I was hoping that the new content would work out a little better than initially anticipated though for the imbalanced servers. It so far doesn't sound like it however.Also, as much as I have been hoping to re-sub to try out the new content, get two characters to 40, etc, I'm not so sure at the moment. Whatever whining and irritation may have infested the Vortex population in the past I believe will only return. Yes, there's this new fancy dungeon, woo! But the new content only draws the same exact game out even further. There's no new dimension on the gameplay, community or character development.In fact, I believe that it is inevitable for the Destruction population in particular to get all pissy all over again and take the attitude to new heights. Yeah... not sure if I'm looking forward to all the bitching and e-backstabbing again just yet...
 
ARGH! Has GP changed their software in the past few days?! I run on Chrome (I don't wanna hear it unless its constructive) and there's this fucked up new version of the post-editer whenever I hit reply or edit. What it does is that wall of text bull-shit you see above. I have to go to "Plain Text Editer" just so that it won't eat my post.ARGH!
 
Found my answer: GuildPortal Change Log : 6/17/2009 12:21 PM We will be deploying the latest version of the WYSIWYG editor later today. It will resolve issues with IE 8, and has a few neat things that we can do with it, moving forward. We are testing it in the latest versions of all browsers, and also ensuring compatibility with a version back, where feasible. For some browsers with rapid release schedules (like Firefox), please ensure you have auto-updates configured.
 
After watching the video of it, and hearing about what they where adding, it just sounded like just more of the same, only it combines dungeon grinding and rvr grinding together into one big snooze fest...

I dont think its a snooze fest at all.  Its the same as every other MMO out there in that you have your grinds you go through to get one thing or another for your toon.  The thing that makes any game like this the most enjoyable is the people your playing with.

What we have gone and done now is spend a lot of time with the Order players on this server as well.  This server is a community reguardless what side of it your on.  Even on opposite sides we can chat and play together and its really increased the ammount of fun that I have. 

If you all re sub, or still play in Zaz and Tryden's case.. find me in game.  Tag along and see if we can land some duels with Order players. 

Also, not sure where everyone got.. but did any of you get into any of the high lvl dungeons like Lost Vale?  Or is your opinion on the Dungeons based on Gunbad (which has changed now) and Bastion Stair?  Blood?  Bile?

</div><div>Thing is Marius, you're dead on.  It IS the people I play with that make MMOs I play interesting.  Unfortunately, that may in fact mean that I don't go back to WAR.  That is to say, its the people there that make me wary of even bothering.  All the friends I like to play with aren't even playing WAR anymore and in some cases, such as Claymore and Aemon, aren't even playing MMOs at all at the moment.  On the other hand, there's alot more friends playing City of Heroes/Villains.</div>
 
i made a char on iron rock before my account got deactivated. skull throne is still ok on balance, but iron rock is awesome. pretty much no balance issue. maybe changing servers will help the inactivity that is driving so many ppl not to play?
