Whats the battle plan?

I have 2 problems with COX at the moment, A.) "I've done it all..." Until they add new mission types, it's same thing with a different look. Killing the same things with a different AT/power set isn't fun for long either. and 2.) PVP is broken/no fun and the devs are totally lost as to what to do, and what their goals for it are...

They've added 2 new NPC groups to the game in the past 3 years, and we get to fight them 3 total story lines, and heroes don't get access to all of them... If Rogue is a huge addition, and I mean huge, with new things to do, actually new things to do, prolly will want to play it.

I've been in talks with some people who left Vindictive in Warhammer, who are still friends of mine. We've been talking about going at it one more time after what happened originally, but there's still a lot of open wounds. So there's a lot of mending going on there. But these are people with visions close to my own on what kind of guild I want Vindictive to be.

There is a battle plan, and it's a sexy battle plan. I know LoTRO didn't take off but unfortunately a lot of people didn't like the game, or didn't want to give it a try. It was a tough sell and shouldn't be indicative of what the next guild is going to be.

And before I make a decision on Aion or Champions, it needs to be absolutely certain. The voting poll shows people are really split on the two games and we're going to probably lose half the guild when we do decide on a game for September. I've accepted that.

So in short, all I'm asking for is patience. It's not an easy decision.

Also I would like to add my laptop is in for repairs. They quoted me one to two weeks. I can still post and stuff off my work computer, and can access my office there whenever I need.

But I'm ventless until I get my laptop back.

This is what sucks.  Unfortunately, I'm 100% positive I wont be playing Aion, it's to similar to WoW and I'd rather play it than Aion.  Champions looks to be like CoH/CoV everything done right however and that was my first MMO and I'll 100% be trying it out.  So, when the time comes in less than a month, hopefully I'll see some of you around on whatever server is chosen as home base.

BTW, Tryden, did you seriously make a character in Warhammer named "Hock"?

Maybe you should redo the poll again?

I dont think a poll would solve anything. People need to discuss not just click a radial button.

I do believe your underestimating the value of a radial button.

Actually, due to how much criticism psychology gets its one of the most rigorous disciplines and involves quite a bit of scientific method.  The major problem most people initially see with the field is it involves objectifying a highly subjective subject and data set.  That being said, I think psycho-analysts are cracks though.  Also, the DRM or whatever the manual's name happens to be is also so abused its meaningless.

I agree, a poll is meaningless right now. The fact of the matter is we're going to lose people no matter what game we chose.

Right now I'm trying to talk to Vindictive members. In the coming days I hope to set up a group meeting, but attendance is unreliable these days so I'm aiming to push ahead with a decision soon. Both Aion and Champions are still a few weeks away so we have time.

Have faith members of Vindictive. The next guild will be spectacular. And we will dominate our new game. I think Warhammer was a boon in that a lot of lessons were learned, and I hope to apply those so that our new guild will be some sort of pseudo-reincarnated Roman Empire, with less wine-laden orgies and more video gaming.

Rest assured however, there will be wine-laden orgies.

</div><div>Oh and you haven't talked to me, good sir :[  Are you just assuming that I'll stick with Vindictive wherever we go?  If so you'd be right, because not many guilds will accept a pedo :[</div>

As long as in the random groaping that I find only Ivy.

Also, I have no interest in Aion. I dont really know a lot about Champions.  Last I heard there is no PvP for the initial release of the game.  Is this still true?  I asked this before but I dont remember what I was told.

Anyway if there is no PvP(no matter the game)or it is limited then im not interested.  If I have to Ill go back to FPS games and get nothing but PvP.

Also, why does the guild as a whole have to play the same game?  I ran into some people from a guild called vVv on WAR recently and they are a multi platform, multi game guild.  Going into their vent was like walking into a video game store.  You have people playing CS 1.6, L4D, CoD, WAR, WoW.. all these individuals all playing different things at the same time.  There L4D group is suposedtly top 5 in the country.  I think saying "we" as in the guild, are playing this game isnt worth driving people away.  Play Champtions AND play Aion.  Let those who play both go back and forth.  The "hardcore" players will stay with their game and the casual ones can come and play whatever as they wish.

Beside, id like to bounce channels talking shit about every game im not interested in.. just to liven things up

We don't all have to play the same games, which is why we have forums for other games.  Our vent channel should have several games as well.  I think what most of us are trying to get at is that we want each other's balls so badly, we have to play the same game so the chances of balls-gettingness increase.

Our ventrilo already has over 100 channels

</div><div>Not only is there PVP but its being more or less directed towards having a heavy PVP nature.</div>

yeah i may have to try this then.  I played Champions (Dark Champions specifically) for a short while so seeing the RPG made into a MMO should be intersting.  When is its release?

Tryden,

What I've been curious about this entire time is why does the guild have to chose between one game or another? To me it would seem rather advantageous to have the guild split into two or more games for the simple matter that most of the leadership has a similar view of what Vindictive should be in the first place and that would draw more people into the guild from the various games.

This would spur much higher membership levels on the forums, which would show people how active of a guild we really are and make them want to be members of our community that much more. Also, the advantage of playing multiple games at once is when someone wants to jump to new games such as from CO to Aion, then they already have a guild to go to that will help them with their advancement in that game. With such a system in place we also would never be losing members to new games, we would only be transferring them from one part of the guild to another.
