VEATs = Villain Epic ATs... The new Widows and Spiders...
As far as tanks in COV... Um... Well, brutes phail at playing tank without some buffage normally. I guess granites ain't bad at it. Back Alley Brawler said that Master Minds are suppose to be the Tanks of COV.... Meh, brutes and MM's are both good for running solo.
Master Minds are pretty complicated to play well though, with a lot of little tricks here and there, not to mention 6+ pets to control... They can get kinda boring though, because if you play them "right" you are playing defender and giving orders to your pets, not actually dealing damage yourself. I have a lvl 37 Necro/Dark that is fun to play. This combo has a ton of control to it with a lot of fear and imobe cones, and single target holds between you and your pets. All the pets carry a heal self power and the Dark Mez pet has the dark mez heal aura too. Overall it's great against groups, but EB/AV types can be a bit rough. Bots are suppose to be the "best" pet set. They do pretty tremendous damage from what I've seen of my friends that run them. Poisons is another good secondary set for taking out EB/AV's and other powerful targets. It isn't as strong against large groups though. I'd recommend bots/dark, I think.
Brutes... The thing to remember with them is, they really aren't tanks. They have the same HP and Resistance caps, but their natural HP is lower and their natural resistance is equal to scrappers and stalkers as well I believe. I have a lvl 50 elec/elec/mu brute. It's tons of fun in PVE, but it sucks terrible in PVP. This combo has no natural heal power, and no toxic resistance. If ya want to do PVP some or at least be able to sometime, prolly go with Energy melee. For armor, Will Power is decent in PVP, I believe on brutes, and quick recovery will really help keep ya moving and keep your fury up high. I would say look at invuln maybe, but then you are the same build as Warface and we can't be having that...
