So even with our recent push into LOTRO (which is going quite well and we encourage everyone to come join the fight in Middle Earth), our community still isn't the single-minded mass we were in Warhammer. One really cool thing about Xfire is you can use it as an Instant Messenger. If two different people are playing a different game, you can still chat to each other in-game. Or if you're surfing the web and looking at feministic porn, you can chat to someone playing LoTRO

Like the new Sig, Tryden.

Cant everyone do all the same things as those messengers provide.. but via Vent?  Easiser to talk and kill then type and kill.. at least for me.

I find it to be less work than logging onto Vent. X-fire is something I can set to run at start-up and watch people pop on and offline. Then if I see them playing same game as me I can shoot em a message (which pops up in game) and see if they want to play together and THEN hop on Vent.

Ahh.. yeah I never found the 3 mouse clicks of logging into vent to be bothersome enough to have to have it auto start for me lol.  I had x-fire when I played BF2 alot and just never used it / liked it very much.  Vent seemed to be a lot better cause everyone knew they could find eachother in there most times anyway.

And cant you add it to your startup folder to auto start with your computer anyway?  Save you 2 of those 3 mouse clicks if you can

I dunno.. same game or not I like talking with my friends if they are around.

good thing about xfire is that you can keep track of people that aren't in vent also, such as rl friends or perhaps ex-guildies that you still talk to.

Since no one got me a mic for my birthday, can we compromise and use xfire? The catch being that someone needs to accept me into the 'clan.' Also, I won't be on immediately; I need to go buy some foodstuffs first (and for that my boyf needs to get home with the car. We're talking somewhere around an hour till I get on.) Also, I am still level 7-12.

Why are you playing Solitaire when you have lotro!

I love spider solitaire. it's very forgiving when I get up and wander away, which is often. BUT. I am getting on lotro finally, meet you suckers there.

(I've found that having a boyfriend is a lot like taking care of children.. I put his dinner plate in front of him, I get his clothes picked out and his lunches packed, I make sure he's always amused and happy. Something tells me I may be spoiling the bejeezus out of him, but I can't help it. It's just my nature. And he's just that darn cute. <3)
