just looking at the calendar sign up and we have like 6 healers and 2 dps

Yeah, unless they signifigantly nerf chanters, I am playing one at launch. I really wanted to like the spirit master but when an entire portion of the game (PVP) is based around flying, and my pets don't fly, fuck that noise. I will roll a Ranger alt probably, but yeah, the chanter shall be my main. Buffzors!

So...  I'm gonna be a ranger.  That's gonna be pretty damn epic.  All yall healing me while I HEADSHOT MUTHFUCKA people in their carefully designed to perfection faces.  And when the bow gets a tad tedious I will cahrge in and start stabbing people in the groin area with my ranger sword!

Yeah well I spent an hour or two in the free for all arena at the pandemonium on my gladiator and..
wow melee sucks, i was getting immobilised and slowed like no one's business and then ranged were slowly pecking me off.

Prolli going to make something ranged at launch now, most likely a sorceror, and have a ranger alt at 10 so i can have more room on the Auction House ;P

I heard much of the same in region chat. Melee in PvP = the *suck*. This makes me happy and sad at the same time. It means that melee characters(namely assassins) won't get super overplayed like rouges are but it means Sorcs(already one of the most overplayed) are gonna get beat into the ground, also means they will be the first to get nerfed, :)

Worry not Ash, I shall take you under my wing (see what I did there?) in PvP and keep you alive and stabbing(and there? Alive and kicking? no?)

I for one will be playing a Templar

I'm one of the select few who actually enjoys tanking and from what i played in beta they actually made tanks a decent amount of fun to play....will definately make our group leveling easier when we can pull huge groups and destroy them

Tryden will be making a post of yummy information here in a couple days. But we will be playing on Siel at launch

If we do have a plathora of healers, I'd be open to dabbling into something else.  Would have to see what would be needed before making any other kind of choice.

Well I dont think we have any spirit masters, i think they provide an increase in drop rates too, but i know you hated the mage in beta.

But to answer your question we need DPS.
-Sorceror
-Assassin
-Spirit Master
-Ranger
-Gladiator

Yep, spirit masters get a buff later on that provides a 20% increase to the drop rate. SMs are also probably gonna be the most underplayed class at launch, why? There pets CAN'T FLY. I wanted to play a SM so very badly, their pets are actually pretty good, good DPS, and hands down the best CC in the game. But there were two deal breakers I just couldn't get over. DOTs for SMs don't stack. So if one SM puts a DOT on someone and then another SM dots em, the DOT just resets. Two, already mentioned, pets don't fly. So in any PvP situation since SMs are just as squishy as Sorcs the Sorc will always, always win as their DPS is far, far better. This isn't to say SMs are a bad class. They are hands down the best solo class in the game. You never, ever have to stop and can easily kill things far above your level. In group situations they are never unwanted. Awesome CC, good DPS and that %20 drop rate increase is nommy. But I love some PvP and it's gonna be hard PvPing with out pets that can't fly.<div>
</div><div>Now you know. Also, full disclosure, I am almost certainly playing an SM as my secondary character at launch. I had a shit ton of fun with them during open beta and can easily keep him as my PvE char while making my chanter a PvP monster. The SM takes practice, looots of it but once you get good they really good times. It will remain to see how they fair during pvp that determines if I ever really take the char seriously. </div>
