So I was looking into Wordpress more. Looks like we could buy a premium theme (which wouldn't be too pricey), and then we would have to pay a bit more for hosting. Here are some of the themes I was looking at, all of which are built around forums (I've just started to look at themes, so please direct me to some other good ones!)

I pay about $100 a year for hosting now so that's affordable.

There's also some software I need to buy for the new site which looks to be around $100 at the moment. So I'd say Wordpress looks pretty affordable right now. I just want to make sure our site looks good, because a lot of the guild sites I saw look like shit. To be fair, most were World of Warcraft websites, and no one still playing that game has an ounce of creativity or talent in them :3

(Sidenote: I hope to convince/bribe Genma into doing our graphics again, because that guy is super talented. He did the current banner/buttons you see here, and has done the banner work since the beginning. There are no shortage of guilds jealous of our banners, and we can gloat only because of him. also, how much customization would hosting on a service like wordpress allow? is it basically a blank slate with complete control?

either way, it'd be really badass if we could get some sort of music theme running on the intro page. I bet we've got some musical talent in the guild that could compose us something epic

The word press designs are nice. I know a little about web design, 3 years in high school. I've been messing around with an Adobe product Adobe Muse, that pretty much lets you design the site without any code to meet standards, i gotta re-up my subscription (lost it do to work not paying me for 3 months). But whatever i can help out with let me know. Also will donate, when i'm a little less poor. Also, when i do get my sub back, Adobe will actually host up to five sites for me, i haven't used any so that's an option if you're interested, i'll keep you updated though.

So right now it's about 99.99% certain the new website will be on Wordpress. I've been playing around with templates on a practice site I made to get a feel for it.

In the meantime, I'm going to make a new forum status here called Vindictive Supporter for all the people who've donated. I'm hoping with the new site that we can get something more custom for donors, like a special border for your posts or something. But that's a work in progress.

Thanks to everyone who's donated. I'm aiming for an October/November launch of the new site. I'm still accepting donations to help with costs if others want to chip in.
